I'm not going to bore on about the Great British climate (pick a season, any season...), but I did laugh this morning when I heard the old Vijay Armritraj, 'I love Wimbledon, but why don't they stage it in summer?' quote. Let's just say that for unpredictable meteorological conditions, I think Winser London has it covered: chic cashmere sweaters, go-anywhere pants, gorgeous silk blouses and the oh-so essential lightweight trench. Perfect.
Simple and elegant, I like! Though right now I wish I could wear something that really says "Summer" - even if it was just for one month of the year, is that too much to ask?! :-)
ReplyDeleteYup, I'm with you on the trench and the cashmere. Since moving over here 18 months ago, I've learned why people are so keen on these as wardrobe staples.
ReplyDeleteI'm also still into fine gauge merino wool - there's a lot of it in New Zealand and I think there should be a lot more of it available in England!
I was laughing about that great quote! Same here, we had 5 days with temperatures as high as 35C and now back to max. 12C and heavy rain...
ReplyDeleteThe Winsor collection is really amazing, love the style and soft colours.

Fabulous clutch giveaway on my blog

I love Winser's elegant style and the pieces are truly timeless. They're saying we'll be stuck with wet Summers for the next 10 years - better think about emigrating if it's an option :-)
ReplyDeleteI've fallen into to wearing exactly these combinations since last week, pants, silk shirts, knit jacket and trench, even the slipper/loafers! Was feeling guilty about snapping up more silk shirts in the sale but not so much now :-)

Sigh, will be glad to aend abundant sunny skies and 95 degree temps your way. I have to wait only 4 more months for a few clouds and a moderate 80 degree day. Oh to wear a summer sweater here in Texas. Enjoy your blog though ♥
ReplyDeleteI adore this look, wish they shipped outside the UK...
ReplyDeleteI am with Laurie...oh to wear a trench or summer sweater in Texas...how fun that would be. I am born and raised here, love being Texan, but I am not a summer girl, go figure. It is HOT! I love all of these looks and would love to able to wear something similar.
ReplyDeleteLove these chic, elegant looks, as I simply melt in the Florida heat. You torment me! : >
ReplyDeleteVery nice! Elegantly understated and so easy to put together.
ReplyDeleteDear Birdybegins, try John Smedley for fine gauge merino and sea island cotton jumpers and cardis. They are a bit expensive but if you take proper care they last for years.
ReplyDeleteI love all of it. Here in Paris we are enjoying what I thought it was only the Great British summer too...
ReplyDeleteHere in the Washington, DC area, we haven't had much summer either, so I have been in sweaters far ore than I'd expect for late June. Like Une Femme, I sure wish Winser sold in/ shipped to the US. Right up my style alley.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful clothes but here in Texas that is Winter Wear!
ReplyDeleteA trench? Cashmere? They would quickly be traded for a hospital gown and heat stroke.
Even in Colorado last week it was in the low 90s.
I need to get farther North!!!
I like the sweater in the first picture. A pretty neckline.
