Kate Moss portrait by Chris Levine
I finally got round to seeing the Kate Moss She's Light pictures at the Fine Art Society, this week. The portraits are beautiful. La Moss looks very calm, like she's meditating or floating in the Mediterranean Sea in the south of France, off Philip Green's yacht no doubt. As the cover of the latest Mario Sorrenti photography book proves, the almost-40-year-old model is a total water babe.
Gorgeous. Anyhow. Levine specialises in lenticular printing (a bit like those seaside postcards that change position when you move them about), once mounted on a lightbox, the image looks like a 3D hologram. She's Light is made up of five different pictures, so that when you move around the room, Kate Moss moves with you.
The exhibition is a collaboration between light artist Chris Levine and make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury. It's on until 29 June, so there's still time to catch it if you're in London.
Levine is most famous for his fabulous portrait of the Queen - which I think is the best picture of Her Maj, ever. There are a couple of fluorescent pink silkscreen images on show too, I particularly liked the faded one, which looks like an old stamp, don't you think?
Can't quite believe Kate Moss is 40 this year...That Is My Age.
brilliant. Kate never looked so gorgeous as here.
ReplyDeleteI just walked by the poster in the Selfridges window today and it is stunning! I want it for my house in fact...
ReplyDeleteI can't wait til Moss is 40. The Naughty Forties will finally be fashionable. I know we shouldn't need that sort of validation but you know what the media is like, they do love an angle!
ReplyDeleteThe first and last pictures of Kate Moss are great.
ReplyDeleteOk with the very last of the Queen, the first of her looks odd.
This was fascinating ...thanks for sharing the post. I was mesmerized by a couple of the photos. Have a wonderful week ahead.
ReplyDeleteHi there- me and my eldest adore Kate, thanks for the heads up on the exhibition, I'm sure he will go and check it out!
ReplyDeleteNice wonderful work.

Will have to try and catch this exhibition. Can't quite believe Mossy is hitting 40 either - comforting though in a strange way - if anyone can convince the world that life and style doesn't end there for women it is probably her.
