This mystery woman has been incredibly popular on my Pinterest board. I know nothing about her - unknown person if you're reading, please reveal your identity! - just that the picture comes from a Canadian website called Everything Zoomer. Why so popular? Mystery Woman looks healthy and happy and has great style. Her gorgeous grey hair and jolly demeanour tell me that she's comfortable in her own skin. The swing-y tunic dress looks chic and simple and is livened up with a few carefully-chosen accessories. London has felt like a steam room over the last few days - I've been sweating like Obama behind the bulletproof screen in Berlin - so an outfit like this provides the perfect solution to the inevitable what to wear conundrum.
I've been doing a bit of research to try to find a similar frock - and though not identical, my favourites have a similar feel:
T by Alexander Wang |
Hobbs Niamh dress: now £88 in the sale. |
Or go easy on the accessories and splurge on Marni. |
Have a lovely weekend.
LOVE a tunic dress...your lady is gorgeous ;-)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend.
xx
She looks fabulous! Young without the "mutton dressed as..." blah, fresh and chic. Love that simple look :-) Have a great weekend, hope Monday went well xo
ReplyDeleteShe is gorgeous! Long hair, clashing metals and showing her knees bet the age police are spontaneously combusting! xxx
ReplyDeleteShe looks wonderful! That's what I call Great Style at Any Age. Nothing personal, but I do think Advanced Style is really about Advanced Costume Design. This woman is true life and loving it.
ReplyDeleteHer smile is the best accessory!
ReplyDeleteI'm already looking for tunics - they can go from summer shifts to winter tops with leggings and cardigans, and are so comfortable. My goal is to have a snazzy tunic and palazzo pants outfit!
ReplyDeleteVery nice. I have one very similar in navy by Sofie D'Hoore. I got it from Fenwick last year.
Wow, she looks amazing-her dress is simply gorgeous, a very inspiring look xx
ReplyDeleteShe is gorgeous, and I think I recognize her from another pic of her on the Sartorialist a few years ago. Then too, she was wearing simple, floaty pieces with killer accessories.
ReplyDeleteI believe the silver haired beauty is wearing:
ReplyDeletePrada Poplin Elbow Sleeve Tent Dress.
Spring 2011. Black, white, ecru and gray
A small fortune, but truly timeless. I bet it is available on ebay somewhere, or when I can add it to my list of sewing, I may just experiment with several toiles and see if I can replicate....mmmmmm
There's a lot of things in Cos in the same general area. I love this grey dress with a swingy pleat skirt http://www.cosstores.com/Shop/Women/Dresses/Dress_with_pleated_skirt/46881-7403415.1#c-10287284
ReplyDeleteShe looks great but i do NOT like her sandals.
Love her look! Anyone could pull this off, the dress is universally flattering and the necklace is such fun!
ReplyDeleteShe looks fabulous, stylish and very happy. Would love to see more of her style on Pinterest and your blog. Hope you can track her down somehow.
ReplyDeleteShe looks fabulous! I want to look like that, rather than the wilted flower I so often resemble here in Florida heat.
ReplyDeleteShe looks like a woman who was just born with style in her DNA. Love her look and demeanor.
ReplyDeleteLove the way your choices capture the spirit of this mystery woman's look. For me, besides the clean yet playful appearance, at least part of the appeal is that she is baring her knees, not too much, but perhaps more than many would counsel for her "certain age" -- she obviously knows she has "good legs" and doesn't see any reason to start hiding them just because she's hit a certain birthday. Especially not when it's hot out. Brava!
ReplyDeleteI admit, I pinned it too! Love the dress and am thinking on fabric that would suit to create a version for myself.. I love that it looks uncomplicated and I imagine it is a dream to wear...especially in hot steamy weather.
ReplyDeleteAs always..a great eye for fashion.
Thank you!
xx
Une Femme & Joanne M - ooh well spotted and thanks for the tip offs. Maybe now I'll be able to find Mystery Woman.
ReplyDeleteFashion For Aliens - yes, agree. Cos always good for pared down chic.
Love how she looks. Chic, stylish and age appropriate. We all need that dress!
ReplyDeleteLove her happy smile and -eek!-great tan. The dermatologists are probably gathering a sunscreen mob now and on the hunt.
ReplyDeleteLove the look and the tan. I told a friend yesterday I will die tan, but very happy. The dress is so fun, easy and chic. Will definitely try to copy in a little more flowing fabric.
ReplyDeleteShe is a sales lady at Holt Renfrew in Toronto, where this photo was taken. Amazingly stylish woman. Here name is Gloria Sharp. Check out this article
