It's OK to wear red jeans again
Sometimes in fashion when an item or trend reaches epidemic proportions it has to be left alone for a while. Left to the Duchess of Cambridge for a while. Then Kate Moss wears red jeans and suddenly everything's OK again. Garance Doré posts an old picture of Isabel Marant in hers:
And a middle-aged blogger follows suit. Now. I hate to sound like a competitive teenager but this photo was actually taken in spring prior to the Kate Moss In Red Jeans (KMIRJ) moment when I'd been swanning around in my old Zara hot pants again. Here I am in my new studio...
And here's where to find red jeans today:
Moto low rise skinny jeans by Current Elliott, now £110, available HERE.
Leggy zip jeans by French Connection, now £60, available HERE.
Cropped jeans, by Boden, £49, available HERE.
For information, on how to wear red jeans without looking like Ronald McDonald, here's my Grown-up guide to hot pants. Are you going crazy for coloured denim (again)?
You look great in your red jeans, and are clearly a trend setter:) I got rid of mine last year. The novelty wore off quite quickly for me but then wearing a colour was quite a departure:) I think they have quite a classic look about them and are probably the most enduring colour when choosing coloured jeans.
ReplyDeleteI still have mine in the closet but I had kind of forgotten about them. I may pair them with my sneakers now that I have seen how great you look!
ReplyDeleteYou look great! I noticed a lot of coral red jeans and trousers when we were in Paris in May. I passed on this trend first time around, may need to take another look.
ReplyDeleteI never knew red jeans were in and then out and now in again.
ReplyDeleteI hd a pair a few years ago, but found out quickly that
they they were not meant for me.
This is funny--I was just thinking this morning as I passed by my red jeans that maybe it was time to give them away. Maybe I will give them another go.
ReplyDeleteI wince at the sight of a pair of ORANGE jeans every time I open the wardrobe door. I mean , what came over me, and they look completely minging on. I think it takes a certain length of leg to carry it off.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this! I wore my red jeans today with a black tank and pink sandals. Good to know i am not hopelessly behind the times. : >
ReplyDeletecute jeans!!

Jon bought his for £1.95 from a chazza a couple of weeks ago. Got to love gormless hipsters who chuck stuff out so readily.
ReplyDeleteI keep threatening to submit his photo to the Twats in Red Trousers blog but I must admit he looks ace in them as do you.x
I came late to the red jeans thing just having got mine last summer. I loved them then, I love them now.
ReplyDeleteEbayed mine last year and now deeply regretting it
ReplyDeleteI haven't had a pair of red jeans since 1981 but I would love some again. Or blue or green or purple. I have been waiting for the ultra low rise trend to die before getting any coloured jeans.
ReplyDeleteWore them for a couple of years when they were first a thing, but have no desire to revisit ...
ReplyDeletewoow...I like style
ReplyDeletewelcome to the blog of 50 year olds

How funny - I wore red jeans today! how about that!
ReplyDeleteHmmm…. I have pink, turquoise, and cobalt blue jeans. I am a slave to Boden!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo! Red jeans? I can resist everything but temptation.
ReplyDeleteYou look fab in yours. I must admit I thought 1990's at the mention of red jeans but I am totally loving Kate Moss in her's styled with black. She gets away with anything! x
ReplyDeleteYup, for chaps too!
