We're going to be away over the holidays and with just a matter of days to go, I am trying not to hyperventilate over imminent deadlines, packing and stuff. In a way, clearing off makes Christmas easier. I've sort of agreed not to exchange gifts with close friends and family (if you fall into that category and I haven't explained my new approach to the festive season, consider yourself told) which appears to have taken the stress out of the preparations. So far. Obviously, I'll be leaving what to wear till the very last-minute, but one thing I do know is that my Liz Taylor-on-a-budget earrings are coming with me. Throwing on sparkly jewellery is the easiest way to upgrade any outfit, wherever you are.
Small chandelier earrings are perfect for travel: the first pair are Lulu Frost - I have a couple of the pieces she designed for Whistles and they are always commented upon - and below are J Crew. The jewellery and Jenna Lyons are the best things about that brand:

And I've found a perfectly packable jewellery box. From new label Stow who stock a fine selection of styles in brightly coloured leathers that would make lovely Christmas gifts. If only I was buying them this year...
What are your plans for the festive season?
I'm decorating up a storm - the opposite approach. But I've done it your way too and it can be wonderful. I hope you have a warm and dangly holiday:).
ReplyDeleteI have always been over the top with holidays...but it makes me happy..no stress from holiday trappings...just work! I love the earrings you selected here!
ReplyDeleteI've been a card -carrying chandelier and hoop earring wearer since my twenties but now: shorten the drop, smaller stones and ( whisper) small pearl studs.I love the first ones.
ReplyDeleteI just can't wait for 2 days off work !
A very Happy Christmas to Thats not my age , I can't tell you how much I enjoy your blog.
Love the star earring - I'm a small-dangly person and those are right up my alley. I hope you have a marvelous trip and a very happy Christmas. Pack light and shop when you get there! xo
ReplyDeleteAn earring isn't worth wearing unless it's grazing my shoulders!
ReplyDeleteI'm counting the days till I can stock up on them in India. x
I've cut out so much of the stressful stuff, but like you, I still want sparkle and festive. These earrings are a fabulous way to create that vibe instantly, whether with jeans or an LBD. Btw, I just grabbed the necklace that matches those star earrings ... J Crew had a 30% off sale, and it seemed perfect for my daughter. Wish I'd spotted the earrings!
ReplyDeleteooh what larks....somewhere hot??
ReplyDeleteKiller earrings! Great way to add excitement to a holiday ensemble.
ReplyDeleteGreat earrings, I just wish I could carry them off, but they seem to look out of place with my very short hair.
ReplyDeleteWe are home to roost for Christmas. Back to back social events for the weekends leading up to the Big Day, which are all great fun, but tiring all the same. So come Christmas Eve, we are ready to sit, eat, drink and relax and not entertain or be entertained! Happy Holidays!
