Formidable! Like Kate Moss for Topshop, I'd put my last Euro on the Ines de la Fressange and Uniqlo collection selling out. I predict a polite fashion frenzy amongst IdlF fans of a certain vintage, and am already giddy with excitement after yesterday's preview. This spring 2014 range is available in March and really is trés chic. The 56-year-old fashion insider has an innate ability to put together easy-to-wear, elegant, everyday looks that appeal to grown-up women and has created a lovely range of wearable basics that completely encapsulates her sense of style and joie de vivre. Simple shirts and tunics, shirtdresses and flat front trousers come in navy, white, red and black, and in true Ines-style, attention has been paid to detail, 'I believe that one can find beauty in ordinary objects and daily life. I feel less connected to fashion when it is too prohibitive, snobbish, or removed from real life.' The cotton and French linen shirts and navy workwear-inspired jackets are my favourite pieces and will slot easily into any wardrobe. And with Uniqlo's oh-so reasonable prices, we can all have a little piece of Parisian Chic.
It's all about the detail:
As IdlF points out, ' By changing a few centimeters or millimiters, one transforms the garment. And the more one talks about the basics and pieces that are easy to wear, the greater the importance of the subtleties.'
Keep an eye on Instagram, where I'll be posting a few more (slightly out of focus) bits and pieces.
J'adore.
I have learned so much from Ines...and from you! Thanks for sharing the information!
ReplyDeleteoh yes, she will sell out! So many of us women of a that's-not-my-age will scoop up her designs. May I have her impeccable posture too?
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to the spring collection. That dress looks great - especially on Inès!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the info. I love Uniqlo.
Oh, that's a collaboration I'll be paying attention to! I love what you've shown here, (just hope they aren't all cut really LONG).
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. Can't wait. Love that navy dress. Elbows at the ready.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, practical, elegant, classy, comfortable. Can't say enough except that I wish there were more clothes like this at affordable prices. Unfortunately, I don't have a Uniqlo near me and would prefer to try on garments first rather than order online BUT I am heading to the UK and London at the end of May 2014 so maybe there'll be something left for me! ;-)
ReplyDeletelove her style! just posted on her last week and how she continually works around the same key silhouettes…that's knowing your true style!

The uniqlo collection looks amazing.
A fabulous design philosophy that translates into a stylish, practical collection of "must haves in my wardrobe". I'm a great fan of elegant simplicity. Warm regards.
ReplyDeleteI seem to buy more and more from Uniqlo, so really look forward to this range.
ReplyDeleteWOW!! this is brilliant. Inès is so inspiring for us women of (reaching) a certain age. So happy to see that style does not need to be sacrificed. Happy week-end C. (HHL)
ReplyDeleteOh,I wish even more that we had uniqlo here...
ReplyDeleteOne of the assets of this woman is her smile, which appears naturally.
ReplyDeleteI like her slim figure too!
Parisien chic? I have been to Paris, and a more motley crew of non-chic women I have never seen in one city. Honestly, there might be chic women there, but I certainly didn't see them in our 3 day visit. I think the women of Paris are living on the legend rather than the reality.
ReplyDeleteCheers,

ReplyDeleteWill this make it to the US? We can only hope.
