This lovely lady is called Monique. We were eating breakfast al fresco one day in Arles when she wafted past in a flapper-style frock. It wasn't long before I'd tracked down her boutique Au Brin de Thyme - next to a restaurant of the same name, run by her son. I think. We were communicating in French and it's been a while. Anyhow, Monique's boutique sells stationery, souvenirs and a small fashion range. I bought this lovely kaftan/dress which is perfect for sightseeing, slinging on over a bikini and working from home (it makes an excellent replacement for the old dressing gown in summer). My sun hat's from Bernstock & Speirs, as I've mentioned before, milliner Thelma Speirs is another grey-haired heroine of mine.
Favourite French shop numéro deux was the local bakery. I was always happy to see the ouvert sign, and nip in for a daily dose of croissants and a selection of bread to accompany the cheese mountain.
I'm still in post-holiday mode, missing the beautiful Provençal countryside and slowly getting to grips with being back home.
Looks heavenly! I could live in France for the boulangerie alone. Love your kaftan and hat.
ReplyDeleteI love the easy flowing dress looks very summery and cool. Would be nice in So Cal as we are starting into our hottest months Sept. and Oct.
ReplyDeleteI'm wild about your hat and off to google Thelma Speirs! Great photo of you in you holiday attire.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Isn't summer easy to live in? And, apparently, Provence. . . . I'm loving easy cotton dresses right now. . . and straw bags. . . and hats. . . Your casual print-mix is brilliant here!
ReplyDeleteI love her style- simple yet cool and laid back- and you look great on holiday!

ReplyDeleteI am very envious. It's winter here (although not cold) and it seems like forever since we had a holiday ... AND that bakery is making me hungry.
ReplyDeleteOh I love your kaftan.... It's navy so win win for me being a casual throw on too ;-) Xx
ReplyDeleteYour photos make me want to pack myself in your bag the next time you go on vacation.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for linking up with Hat Attack in this Thelma Speirs chapeau! It looks outrageously fabulous on you. I have decided that I must have one of her hats in my collection.
ReplyDeleteI shall comment on the chapeau first as I am visiting via Hat Attack! Squeeee!!! It's too cute, just the kind of hat I can never seem to find.
ReplyDeleteAnd you were in Arles? I've read and day dreamed about the area for years. And your mention of a mountain of cheese and a baguette is like music to my ears.
