Dresses with sleeves: Marks & Spencer
'It's official sleeves are in,' Marks & Spencer's style director Belinda Earl told shareholders this week. So, come autumn Your M&S is set to become Sleeve Central - with 90% more dresses with sleeves. Hooray. And this doesn't even include cap sleeves, which Earl has placed firmly in the sleeveless category. Earl is a proper fashion expert with years of industry experience - and I've had a preview of the new autumn collection and can confirm things are definitely looking up. The belted dress below is from the new Best of British range, the brand is going back to basics by focusing on luxury fabrics, craftsmanship and the M&S archive. Be warned though, at £189, it's a bit pricey - but then again, I'm a firm believer in the old 'you get what you pay for' adage.
Have a lovely weekend.
After searching for a few years, finally bought a perfect LBD with sleeves - so glad they're back.
ReplyDeleteI'm still on a hunt for that LBD with sleeves, so am hopeful this will catch on...
ReplyDeleteSleeves are my new best friend. Hopefully I can ditch the cardigan over sleeveless look come fall.
ReplyDeleteI've had sheer georgette sleeves put in a couple of sleeveless dresses. Long live the sleeve!
ReplyDeleteHooray for sleeves! That wasn't so difficult now, was it M & S?
ReplyDeleteLet's hope this is contagious!
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed M&S have got it right. Both of these dresses are lovely.
ReplyDeleteSo pleased they have finally seen sense (with your help I still maintain! ) - love the print of the first dress particularly ... S x (oh and p.s. your striped maxi is even better than either of these though)
ReplyDeleteThis is good news. The sleeves, and the quality. I will give them another shot come fall. The last time I was in there I felt like I needed an antidepressant when I came out.
ReplyDeleteI never knew sleeves were out! It's the print of that first dress that interests me - more bold florals would be great!
ReplyDeleteThe floral dress is beautiful, but waaay out of my budget.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm reluctant to buy memorable prints from mainstream stores like M & S 'cos I think that folks would be looking at me and thinking 'Oh, that's that dress from M & S'
Still, sleeves for the win. Jaeger (where the new head of fashion at M & S used to work) does good sleeve and you can get amazingly good quality dresses on special at an outlet centre.
Beautiful fabrics! And lovely sleeves.
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful that dresses with sleeves are showing up again ! And great blog!
