Russell & Bromley e-commerce launch

As far as I'm concerned, comfy shoes are a fundamental part of the grown-up woman's wardrobe. No one ever looks glamorous if their feet hurt. And they can't walk properly. But this doesn't have to mean a life spent in orthopaedic purgatory. Chic flats look brilliant with cigarette pants and a smart winter coat - and the good news is that British footwear brand Russell & Bromley is launching an e-commerce site on December 3, just in time for Christmas.

Here's Angelina Jolie in the über-popular Stuart Weitzman for Russell & Bromley over-knee boot. This swashbuckling style isn't something I've ever considered before but there comes a point in life when knee-coverage is a must, so I'm keeping my options open.

Fashion VIP and Tomboy du Jour Alexa Chung loves a Russell & Bromley loafer:

But this isn't a label for A-listers only, I've tuned into R&B in the past and in-house style icon Mr That's Not My Age is the proud owner of a pair of classic suede ankle boots that, 'Are sleek and comfy and have lasted for years.'

Oh and in other online news: That's Not My Age is now available by email subscription. See sidebar widget (over there on the right, below my Twitter/Facebook/Pinterest buttons).

Have a grand weekend.

  3. Hooray! At long last. Can't believe it took R&B so long.

From my early 20s, R&B were my favourite shoe store to go to for wonderful sandals. I still miss some of my favourites that eventually had to be thrown out.

  4. Good glad they are going to be online... Went there last weekend with my guest from USA - she went a bit crazy and bought 2 pairs of shoes - flat boots and glitter loafers - very sweet. And she has the boots that Angelina J has which she has worn all the time she's been over... Of course I had to join in and also bought the glitter loafers. x

  6. This has taken FAR too long! Kathy, just go on their website and you can sign up for an email alert to tell you when their ecommerce is live. The product seems to have improved lately, don't you think Alyson?

  9. I bought a pair of R&B navy heels years ago and they were not only beautiful, they were incredibly comfortable. I thought them expensive at the time, but they were extremely good value in the end.

  12. Such great flats and the over the knee boots are very appealing. I'm wearing flat boots most of this season, but I still throw on heels now and then for parties, etc. Just for fun!

  13. Disney - this has taken far too long. I'm always surprised when fairly big brands don't have an online presence (Joseph, Fenwick, R&B have only launched this year). And yes, I think the product is more stylish.

Une Femme - website is UK to begin with but there are plans to expand internationally. I'll keep you posted.

  14. I appreciate comfortable shoes and clothes.
If the shoes feel good on you, you feel good and it will show all over you.
These days, Tod´s slim models are comfortable for me.
I´ve never heard of the brand you write, but would like to try them on in person, before the purchase.
One thing, that seems funny to me is, that why oh why do people in warm, hot countries insist on wearing tall boots?
