TK Maxx' lovely new ad campaign featuring 62-year-old Olga Taylor has really perked me up. What a joy to see her beautiful beaming face and a blast of spring colour. Olga was discovered in a TK Maxx London store and is one of the eight shoppers involved in the brand's Me by Me campaign. 'People are at their happiest and most confident when they are their true selves' says Deborah Dolce brand director for TK Maxx, 'This is a celebration of our shopper's individuality and spirit - we aren't interested in dictating style or prescribing outfits.' Just as well as it'll be practically impossible to find the exact same items in store, ahem. But celebrating personal style at every age and not just focusing on the young is commendable. And Olga looks pretty damn fabulous in a swimsuit:
Props to TK Maxx for continuing to use older models (over the last few seasons they've worked with Daphne Selfe and Pam Lucas) and doing its bit for diversity.
I agree...this is encouraging! She is precious and has way more courage than I when it comes to the swimsuit! At least some retailers recognize 50+ has money to spend!
ReplyDeleteHow cool.

Very commendable. It is one of my favourite hangouts.
ReplyDeleteI have to say, I did not think I would see our age group in swimsuit modeling. Well why the heck not! We wear them too, after all.
ReplyDeleteI even have a bikini.
Rock it, 50+ year old women. We buy a lot of clothes, too!
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo! Love it!

Wonderful. I hope they are doing the same here in the U.S. I think the U.K. is a lot more open to beauty of all ages.
ReplyDeleteGreat news! And thank you sharing, because I would not have know this without following your blog.
ReplyDeleteActually, that is exactly what I have done last week - modelling for a designer together with another 40+ blogger, a customer and an employee.
ReplyDeleteThe feedback is great!
