Parisian Uniform Dressing a la Ines de la Fressange

The fabulous French Femme sticks to perennial classics rather than following fashion fads - think Carine Roitfeld in an Equipment silk shirt, Emmanuel Alt in jeans, Ines de la Fressange in a navy blazer, boyish trousers and Roger Vivier flats. I spotted this piece on the Vogue website about stylish uniform dressing, illustrated beautifully by Ines de la Fressange at Paris Fashion Week 2015. The epitome of elegant Parisian Chic. As the feature says, this is real style for real women.

There's just been another spring delivery of the Ines de la Fressange collection at Uniqlo, as always it's selling like hot Madeleines. Last time I bought the Breton top in navy and black, the quality is great and I've worn it continuously, so this time I might go for the classic off-white and blue. And I'd still like one of the classic Ines jackets:

Ines linen tailored jacket, £59.90, available HERE

Cotton striped top, £14.90, available HERE.

And these drawstring trousers would be good for lounging and travel. They also come in a pinstripe, available HERE.

Relaxed cotton/linen trousers, £29.90, available HERE

Bon weekend.

  2. Love her pieces. Those cotton trousers would be part of my summer uniform. xo

  3. Ines de la Fressange is definitely a thoroughbred. I've never seen her in a bad outfit or pic.

  4. I have one of her linen jackets - slightly oversized, boxy, I love it. And GSL, women are not bred, thoroughly or otherwise. ;)

  5. Love the first look...but not so much the second. Those white trousers, nope. Everything looks great on Ines de la Fressange because she is so great looking... as well as chic. Those pants would look dreadful on me, though.

  6. I'm the mirror opposite of Susan B on the looks - love the second, particularly the red belt mapping to the watchband/bracelet. Oh, Ines, to have you as an exemplar for many more years!

  7. I think these outfits look great ON HER, but the on almost anyone else could really look quite dull and/or frumpy. That is what makes Style so fascinating though; the 'horses for courses' element.

  8. I love that she wears stylish flats. My knees are starting to rebel against heels...

  9. I've always loved her style and accepted that although things she wears may look completely different on me (I have a very different shape/height), there are elements that anyone could adapt for themselves and inject their own individuality. Love both her outfits and wear similar myself regularly. For me, good taste, practical with a touch of luxe dressing will always be stylish.

  10. Ines is so well-proportioned. She can swing any look--it's a matter of conformation (thoroughbred lingo).
