Having collaborated with Liberty for a couple of seasons, Nike have now created their own range of floral print Air Max sneakers. There's a selection of different patterns all named after different cities and printed onto leather. So, the one above is Milan, the monochrome print is New York and the red rose represents London. This is a blooming good idea (sorry). My Liberty print Air Max are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn but three years down the line the fabric is looking a bit grubby and I'm not one for throwing trainers into washing machines. The Nike Air Max City Collection of floral print trainers launches on International Women's Day - and I'm wondering if it's going to get the same reception as Harriet Harman's pink bus?

What do you think?
Not a fan, but that`s just me I guess. Find myself constantly looking for single coloured trainers.Nowadays they are almost always in your face and make me feel like a clown.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I like coloured & patterned trainers.
ReplyDeleteAny trainers (I think) make my feet look a bit big and 'clown-like'.
But as I am a clown anyway . . . . .
I like them - but would like them more with a coloured sole - that white isn't great. Still, I'll probably get a pair.

ReplyDeleteI'm anti-floral. Flowers don't suit my style, and I bore of patterns REALLY easily, Liberty or otherwise. That said, the New York monochrome print doesn't scream floral to me, so I'd have a look at those. I would probably wear them to the gym, rather than as part of an outfit though.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, these would make me feel older rather than younger. I rarely wear florals because of this. I guess the black and white would be the one I would even consider...the others NO....until I turn 90.
ReplyDeleteLOL!!! Right!
DeleteI like the black and white - but I don't wear sneakers much, save for the hopping around thing. xo
ReplyDeleteI once would have liked these, at least in theory, but not so much these days. I think, at 60+, it may just look a bit too "youthful" (i.e. with a big dash of "trying to be").
ReplyDeleteI stick to plain white for spring/summer and black for fall/winter. That way they are unobtrusive. I don't buy ones with any colours, so I'll be passing on these. I leave them for my adult daughters to wear, but I don't think even they will like flowers on their trainers. You would be limited to the number of times you can wear these by your outfit of the day.
ReplyDeletePam - that made me laugh
ReplyDeletematerfamilias - Mmm...you may have a point there
Pretty to look at but....Definite touch of ' look at me, how cool & youthful I am'....trying way too hard.
ReplyDeleteI do like trainers but for me florals - even on the feet - on someone petite and middle-aged (myself) tend to read twee rather than cool or fun. I'll leave these to the young uns.

ReplyDeleteStylopedia/Joanne/Tiffany - I know what you mean but imagine the top pair or the monochrome NY style with the tuxedo jacket and khaki pants outfit I'm wearing in the post below...
ReplyDeletebtw, it's pretty obvious they'd be great on you -- somehow I can easily imagine them with so many of the outfits you've featured here. . .
