Looking at Lauren Hutton

I've spent months thinking (and writing) about women of style and substance; including Fashion VIP Lauren Hutton. This week she's interviewed by Anjelica Huston on the beauty website Violet Grey and there's a lovely photo shoot by Pamela Hanson. I'd rather look at this than Kim Kardashian's oily bum any day of the week.

Though I suspect both have been photoshopped.

  1. Both of those pictures are beautiful...I will check out the article. I wanted to thank you for our kind comment the other day...I've come a long way!!

  2. Always loved Lauren Hutton and remember that movie back when it came out that she was in with Burt Reynolds with a scene that mentioned her now legendary gap-toothed smile. So glad she didn't get that 'fixed' and diminish her distinctive style.

  3. I am still very uncomfortable with my own little gap but really love to see it on Lauren Hutton. Great photos of a fabulous woman!
Couldn't agree more regarding oily bums...

  4. Have always loved her smile and style. Based on other pictures of her I've seen recently, yes, these appear to be heavily photoshopped. Even so, still preferable to oily bums.

  5. Lovely (heavily 'shopped) photos of a gorgeous woman. No oily butts on my monitor plz! xox

  7. I suppose she's had surgery on her jawline, or something, but she looks wonderful.

I totally agree about Kim K's oily bum.

  8. Thanks for the tip - I'm off to check out that interview. Didn't Lauren Hutton say she felt she looked like an egg when she was photoshopped in the past?

  9. Rings, a green hat and leopard. Lauren Hutton has never looked better.

  10. Yes. She may indeed be photo shopped but a few years ago I passed by Lauren Hutton on the street in New York. She was wearing very little make-up and baggy jeans and she was stunning, wrinkles and age spots and all! I noticed this beautiful woman before I realized it was in fact Lauren Hutton. She is the real thing.

  11. A very classy lady indeed. :-)

And I also agree with your Kim K's oily bum comment. Haven't we seen enough already? Ugh!

  12. She is fantastic - we all know that this is photoshopped but Ms Hutton looks just as amazing in the rough. LOVE the retro chocolate (acrylic?) nails. Dashing out to buy some now!(Chocolate nail polish not acrylics!).

  13. I don't understand the Kardashian thing at all...for any of them. Who is it, exactly, that wants to see them, or know what they're wearing, or doing, or saying? Gad...so tired of all that.
Lauren Hutton, on the other hand, is a whole 'nother thing. Love her.

  14. Shopped or not she's good to look at. Oily bum? What, where? I must live in a bubble. x

  15. Lauren Hutton is so amazing! Photoshopped or not. As for Kim Kardashian, I have nothing against her. She's done nothing to me. Live and let live.

  17. Best to stay in your bubble, Vix, and under no circumstances Google 'oily bum!'

  19. Well said! Many who came on the scene in the 1970's really had a distinctive and consistent style that's stood well over time like Hutton's expert casualness, Ali McGraw's bohemian chic, and Mary Randolph Carter's country eclectic. There is nothing in the self-centered vapidness of the KK thing that's going to age well at all. Nothing.

  20. I was sitting at a red light one day on Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice, California. A woman crossed the street in front of me. She was in her 50s or 60s with long, beachy blonde hair, color to her skin and carried herself with ease. There was something about her, she had presence, she was beautiful... she was totally natural. I watched her and thought "That's how I want to look when I'm that age." By the time she got to the other side of the street I realized why I wanted to look like her, IT WAS LAUREN HUTTON. Don't we all want to look like super models in our advanced age? Only in LA, kids.

  21. Beautiful dress and I like the combination of color of hat and ring with the dress.

  22. What a lovely and literate blog you have here. I'm enjoying the quality of your prose as much as the interesting subjects.

  23. She is lovely, although I hated her in American Gigolo with Richard Gere (he's mine!). Anjelica Huston is another favorite of mine, so I'll hustle right over and read that article.
