I love chandelier earrings

Isn't this the epitome of Casual Glamour? That's my signature look, in case anyone needs reminding. You'll often find me in jeans and a t-shirt and a big pair of chandelier earrings. I have a big head and a long neck so this works for me - and I like to liven up a low-key outfit with a sprinkling of glitz. It's the Blackpool in me. This photograph is from Toast, where you can buy the lovely striped Breton top but unfortunately not the earrings - they're vintage and have sold out. I know, tragic. Should you be wanting to create a similar effect, here are a couple of eye-catching alternatives.

Tom Binns painted Swarovski Crystal.

Tom Binns chandelier earrings.

Miguel Ases blue quartz earrings for Astley Clarke.

If, like me, you have prefer your jewellery on the trashy side - how about this pair from ASOS for a tenner?

How do you like to dress up a simple outfit?

  1. I'm not so sure I could pull off the chandelier earrings, but they are lovely and I do love the look paired with a striped tee.

  2. A gorgeous timeless look! The Asiana wedding magazine always has stunning chadelier earrings from UK stores & websites, such as www.glamify.co.uk. I found the magazine on sale in Tesco's.

  3. I like long dangles, but mine are mostly pretty straight. Maybe it's time I branch out (little pun there maybe)!

  4. I love earrings - the bigger and flashier the better. Forget ASOS, check out Asian outfitters Rupali, theirs start at £2:

  5. Gorgeous chandeliers!
My daughter and I share our jewellery, so we are each other's shop and depot :-)

Besides jewellery I find shoes most important to dress up a basic outfit.

  8. I adore the "casual glamour" look because it fits my current lifestyle. I like to wear chandeliers but I agree with Lady Of Style that shoes also make the outfit. I usually wear my chandy's only with Victorian style boots or a bohemian type over all look. Thank you for this post because now I am going to experiment with them more.

  9. ASOS ones look great. And I am trying to justify why I should be allowed to buy that striped top too...! Whistles had a lovely selection of sparkly earrings too recently I was drawn to. S x

  11. The earrings look "nice" on the model, but for myself - I wouldn´t, I couldn´t ever wear hanging anything.
If I looked different, if I were younger, maybe I´d write differently.

  12. They used to be my signature but everyone hated them and I gave up because I have a weak persona!

  13. Love them, feminine, sexy and fun. Tabitha, you look great in them when I've seen photos. My mother hates them on me too - thinks they look "cheap" - oh well, I wear them anyway.

  14. That's a great look. I'm too high-strung for chandeliers on a regular basis so I go with a fancy gold men's watch to dress up jeans. Or a grommeted belt and Doc Martens;).

  16. Just found this one via LPC's blog. You would definitely look great wearing chandelier earrings.

I can't wear earrings quite that long because my neck is not long.

  17. Like this!

I have an Iradj Moini pair which I bought in a fit of madness (Liberty sometimes makes me feel like a princess, in the wrong way), which add magic to anything. I saw a fab post on painting ordinary colourless chandelier earrings with neon paint, which I am going to try next time I need a jewellery fix!

I also like big necklaces - oversize round beads, or my latest purchase of a three-strand faceted glass necklace from Les Néréide (bought in a flash sale from their outlet shop on Seven Dials). I was late to meet my sister at the theatre, but I couldn't pass it by!
