Diana Vreeland. Now there was a fashion editor. As Lauren Hutton says in
The Eye Has To Travel documentary, 'She was upside-down original.' Her vivid imagination changed the face of fashion and brought a little extra pizzazz into our lives. So, good news people, the D.V. DVD is out today. It's a brilliant film, I can't wait to watch it all over again (here's my
full review) - and I'm wearing stripes and painted nails in honour of the grande dame.
I've gone easy on the rouge, though....
PS I think that should be our fashion mantra from now on, 'We all need a little extra pizzazz.'
I especially need some extra pizzazz at this time of the year ;-) Will have to watch it - when I have time to myself, with a glass of wine and no interruption... xo
ReplyDeleteI would love to see this...sounds like fun!
ReplyDeleteooh fabulous...really want to see this!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see this film. I'm with you on the mantra and the painted nails!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Diana. I was hesitent to read the book because I had read others ant thought it would just be a repeat of what I already knew about her. NOOOOO!! This book "The Eye Has To Travel" was a feast for my eyes and one of the best most well written books I have ever read on fashion. Her grand daugher-in-law did her proud!!! Last weekend I went to see this film. It was one of the BEST FILMS I have ever seen!!! If you love fashion or creativity of any kind this is a must see!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm VERY eager to see this for myself. And this is the first time I've ever seen this "stripe" portrait of her.
ReplyDeleteTerri - the stripe photo's fantastic, isn't it? I found it via Pinterest.
ReplyDeleteDYING to see this think it opens here soon!
