How to wear gold trousers
Ever since I met the lovely Orsola de Castro at London Fashion Week, I've been hankering after a pair of metallic trousers. Truly the epitome of Casual Glamour. The perfect boardroom-to-bar companion. Not that I ever spend much time in a boardroom, but you get the picture. Maximum impact, minimum effort, as they say in glossy magazine-land. And an easier option than this season's optical print pants. So. As Mr That's Not My Age prepares for work and I grapple with the blog, I'm reminded once more that I'm living with a style icon. 'Oh I used to have some gold trousers,' he pipes up from behind the ironing board, 'They were from BOY.' Really? 'Yeah. I used to wear them with a tuxedo jacket and a big scarf.' Job done, I think. No burning the porridge this week. So, today's 'How to wear it' tip comes courtesy of the Blog Widower, who remains a step ahead of the fashion pack when it comes to fancy pants.
These lovely Precious Trousers are from Hobbs - and they'd look good with a black polo neck and brogues too. How would you wear gold metallic trews?
So - gold trews are IN!!! These look particularly lovely - and it's always good to know what length you are supposed to wear trousers!
ReplyDeleteYour hubby was extremely stylish. Mine wasn't/isn't ;-)

Wow! Kudos to MR TNMA!! I like his tips a lot. I've been hankering after gold trousers too - love these Hobbs version.
ReplyDeleteVery stylish, I am a fan of 'mad trews' anything out of the ordinary! As I never wear 'boardroom clothes' but now need a change form hard hat and overalls lol I would love these, think Chelsea boots, crisp white shirt and chunky necklace !
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing !
BOY was the coolest ever store, I used to hang out side just to watch the clientele.
ReplyDeleteI want some!
ReplyDeleteThey look great! I'd wear them with brogues and a big, chunky, oversized jumper! Have a great week xo
ReplyDeleteI really like the whole look. Want it all. Xxxx
ReplyDeleteThe trousers look good on the model!
ReplyDelete.
Now I am in love! Those trousers look so snazzy and so perfect! I need to get a pair too. Muah
ReplyDeleteHmm...I like the look. It would be fun to experiment with these. I noticed some faux leather jeans at Nordstroms yesterday and the idea of even trying them on felt wrong let alone sitting in them all day.
ReplyDeleteSpectacular! When I read your title in the thumbprint my first reaction was horror. But these are quite beautiful and would do the trick for the Christmas season.
ReplyDeleteNot sure I could where them and not look goofy. They do look fabulous on the model!
ReplyDeleteYes, please ... I'm in love just as-is. Seeing so much navy and gold together in photos, but having a bit of a hard time finding it in shops. Perhaps by the holidays?
ReplyDeleteI'm in awe of the mister.
ReplyDeleteBut whatever happened to the mister's pants? Any chance they could be altered for you?
ReplyDeleteThose are wonderful and I love that styling. I also like the idea of wearing them with a simple, lightweight v-neck cashmere sweater in navy, black, or chocolate brown. So easy, yet festive.
ReplyDeleteI love gold, ahhhhhhhhhhhh. It may be the Spanish gipsy within me, lol

WendyB/Teri - wish he still had the BOY trousers, I'd be wearing them!
ReplyDeleteDon't think those trousers were in store when I visited Hobbs. They would have been my Souvenir from London for sure. And here I thought Hobbs was too conservative pour moi...
