One of my friends recently confessed to having reached the age when, if there's a sex scene in a movie, she ignores the bedroom Olympics and homes in on the quality of the sheets. And I can relate to that. My latest obsession is not a fancy handbag or the latest Isabel Marant wedge hi-top but luxury bed linen from Toast. We have two sets already, but I need more. We mid-lifers may not have the energy to count sheep - I'm asleep as soon as my head hits that Egyptian cotton pillow - but counting threads per square inch, now, that I can stay awake for.
These days it's the quality of the sheets not what goes on between them that matters.

I am so with you .. but to my own slavery as I have to iron it .. I stated with 800tc.. but I think that maybe 600 is better as it is easier to iron ... but quality sheets are my OCD xx
ReplyDeleteI do love Egyptian cotton sheets. Mind you mine are from the sale in Matalan at £2 a pop so not sure whether they'd be quite as luxe as your Toast ones. x

ReplyDeleteOh I LOVE Toast bed linen. I have a charcoal grey brushed cotton duvet cover and sheets set in UK. Quite my favourite for Winter. Have had it for about 5 years and it gets better and better. Don't iron it though!! Just the pillowcases! X

Over here, we are able to buy Lexington company´s bed linen, and though expensive, they seem to last forever, which they also do.
Actually, my hb +me only need two sets.
No piles of linen to iron.
My husband was amazed by the first set of Egyptian cotton sheets I purchased for us. Over and over, he said he could FEEL the difference.

ReplyDeleteI remember watching that Kim Basinger/Mickey Rourke movie where he drops food into her mouth and drizzles honey on her. All I wanted to know was why wouldn't they close the darn fridge already and who was going to clean all the honey off the floor?
