A moth-free wardrobe



The annual wardrobe decluttering project hasn't quite got off the ground at That's Not My Age Mansions but preliminary preparations are afoot. One of my favourite Christmas presents was this hand-crafted, moth-repellent bag containing homegrown Kent lavender. Made from vintage-style fabrics by a crafty friend of mine, who carefully pointed out, 'It's not magic but it smells quite pleasant.'

    ooooooo . . . I've been thinking of this sort of thing lately! I would love having a strong lavender-filled bag hanging in my closet. I must go on a hunt . . .

    That is wonderful. And I find that lavendar is insufficient to vanquish the sons of bitches.

    Clean closets, airtight storage containers (over the summer) and keeping woolens clean is a big part of the equation.

    Terri - lavender is a natural deterrent and it smells so much better than moth balls but as Duchesse points out, you do need back-up!

    cheeky and clever!
    i use hanging cedar blocks that i refresh with natural cedar oil spray. so far, so good. but lavender is a nice idea; i didn't know it worked to repel moths.
