More Vintage

After three days at the festival, That's Not My Age is feeling totally vintage-d out. So you've probably noticed that this first picture doesn't have much of a retro forties feel (scroll down for nostalgia) - but people, it's Pearl Lowe and Danny Goffey! Not only does Danny Goffey carry the same manbag as Mr TNMA, he looks a bit like a young Sir Paul McCartney, don't you think? Anyhow. Their slightly dishevelled rock and roll vibe is more my kind of thing. Pearl and daughter Daisy put on a Black Swan-inspired fashion show at the festival yesterday, with a very moving tribute at the end to poor old Amy Winehouse.

Though I've got a grown-up lady crush on Pearl, 41, young people love Daisy...

Have to admit that I've never been that interested in the Primrose Hill Set but the Lowe Family were approachable and friendly and really rather attractive. My mum's maiden name is Lowe so I'm wondering if we're related.

Anyway, back to the festival. Here's another set of gorgeous people, Vintage-d up to the max:

Though I have a lot of old clothes, I prefer mid-century, second-hand furniture - it works well with my Scandi-modern bits and pieces and doesn't stink of mothballs:

  1. Awww - Danny was always the cutest one in Supergrass. Love how they've just survived as a big-happy-go-lucky family - him and Pearl have been together for yonks.

I'm more for furniture than clothes too - I just WANT that multi-coloured atomic coat rack!!!

  2. I really love the furniture and your pictures are so much fun to view...but I must disagree...after having loved Paul McCartney since I was 12 (and we will not discuss how long ago that was) I must say that Danny does not resemble him...but I see where youa are coming from!!

  3. They're all pretty fabulous in their ensembles, the Lowes are an attractive family but i'm afraid, Daisy Lowe & Alexa Chung aren't known in Australia, i just know as i'm clued in with the UK. My mummy is English. Love Posie

  4. I love Pearl Lowe but forget Danny, Gaz was the 'Grass I fancied, those cute monkey boy chops were irresistable.
    Love a bit of mid-century furniture, too. That starburst mirror's a beauty.x

  6. Pam - not even a teensy bit?

Vix - I loved that video with the Chopper bikes. I used to ride a Chopper until the handle bars came off in my hands and I went straight into a hedge!

Mr Nyanzi - thank you kindly. Lovely to see you on Saturday.

  9. really like Pearl Lowe's style and they seem a happy family unit - albeit one with a somewhat rackety and trashy past - maybe that is why she resonates - damaged and been through it like many of us in our forties!!!!!!!!!
