Label Love: Studio Nicholson

Apparently this is the perfect weather for wasps. And the perfect weather for Studio Nicholson. I've given up trying to pretend it's summer, and shifted to more of a trans-seasonal look. So that means a mannish jacket and slouchy pants, or jeans. Easy, effortless pieces that can be swiftly livened up with a pair of Liz Taylor earrings, a stripy straw bag and an eye-catching manicure. Designer, Nick Wakeman based her current collection on a 'typical European man's wardrobe,' and there's definitely something about this tomboyish range that reminds me of those gorgeous men The Sartorialist snaps in Milan - garnished with a sprinkling of off-duty Kate Moss. Not a bad combination, eh?

  1. I know, it's so not summer, is it? It's more early autumn up here - hey I'm not seeing Lurex here!

  3. Agreed. There is no summer and I have also given up completely on pretending it is.

Apocalyptic weather is what I call it.

  4. I wish I could send you some of our summer, it is hot, humid and makes wardrobing a challenge. I like the *tops* of these looks very much, especially pic #2. I like a sleeker pant silhouette.

    Liz Taylor earrings are WOW!

  5. I agree with Patti...I wish I could send summer to you, because I am tired of being hot and tired of dressing for heat. I love these looks and wish I could wear something like it right now...but in 100 degrees and over...it just does not work!!

  6. I do love a pair of dropped crotch trousers.
It's awful here but apparently summer's due back this weekend (but I won't hold my breath). x

  8. Patti - actually I think I'd probably wear the jacket with a slimmer pant or the slouchy pants and a more streamlined top.

    Bring on the sunshine!

  9. I love this! I've been wearing a similar combo all summer with either jeans or my Denham dropped-crotch khakis. My jackets are a bit more fitted, though -- and sometimes a sub in a cardi.
We're having dismal weather here on (actually off, as I'm on an island) the West Coast of Canada -- the rest of the country is sweltering and complaining loudly about it, but we've barely got above 22Celsius yet, and grey, and rainy.

  10. yeah I've got the boots on...those rope sole wedges are certainly going to last a few seasons if it carries on like this....but am now having strage autumnal hankerings:cashmere, hot chocolate, cosy sofa suppers...we even lit a bloody fire at the weekend on the Isle of Wight!!
