Beauty at every age: campaigns from Gap and Jaeger

There's a lot of fantastic older model action going on at the moment: Gap's new Dress Normal campaign features actors Angelica Huston and Michael K Williams (from Boardwalk Empire).

Jaeger's Mothers & Daughters campaign features three iconic British models and their mothers. Jodie Kidd and her mother Wendy (below), who was a model for Hardy Amies, Jacquetta Wheeler and her mother the photographer Tessa Coddington and Jasmine Guinness and her mother Liz Casey.

As the Bobster once said, 'The times they are a-changing.'

In other news, I'm on the last chapter of the book! It's been a hard slog and I wish I had more time but my September 1 deadline is looming. Then I'm going to take a week off to go and lie on a beach and rest my brain, and it's back to the day job. No rest for the wicked, and all that.

  1. Perhaps the times are changing because of the change in demographics as well as the fact that the baby boomers appear to be the age group that is cashed up?
You must be quite excited that the finish line is in close proximity. Enjoy your well earned sojourn.

  2. Angelica Huston looks fab...she's a real style hero for me. Her autobio is a great read, she paints a great picture of the world of fashion modelling, before the Supers. http://huntresslondon.blogspot.co.uk/2014/07/try-this-story-of-style-heroine.html

  3. I've loved Angelica since forever - she has timeless beauty and style. Michael Williams will always be Omar (RIP) to me - great actor.

  4. It looks as though retailers finally realize where the disposable income is! Love the picture of Angelica Houston and that makes me want to walk into GAP again!

  7. This is not the first time GAP have used older models/icons for their campaigns. I recall a white t-shirt campaign on buses some years ago. I previously loved GAP and still have treasured items. But I find their designs have been repositioned back to the teen market and I don't shop there any more. I thought the use of Anjelica Huston (yes she does look great) was a sign of a change but having looked at the site I see nothing has.

    Enjoy your well earned break.
