Jaeger goes back to basics for autumn 2014

I had a preview of the Jaeger autumn/winter 2014 collection yesterday - and it's fantastic. Under new CEO Colin Hendry the brand has ditched Jaeger London and Boutique by Jaeger (I never understood who bought this 'younger' range anyway) to focus on the main line and get back to basics. New designer Sheila McKain Waid (ex-DAKS) has created a luxurious modern collection  - with lots of gorgeous coats - a combination of Jaeger archive material and nineties-inspired minimalism. It's beautiful.

  1. Hi my dear! Love love the collection, a very bold and decisive move that sounds very positive for the brand. Have a great weekend and look forward to seeing you again soon xx

  3. It's look good but I really hope that their quality has improved, years ago they were such solid brand with great quality, but everything I have bought in the past decade hasn't lasted a full season, all the fabrics have bobbled and knitwear has teased itself part, I had a coat that didn't make it past two months before looking like a rag.

  5. Minimal, beautiful. Over my price point, but great inspiration.

  7. Gorgeous, and if the quality follows they'll probably do quite well with this collection.

  8. Very chic. Like they tore a page out of Max Mara's playbook. No nonsense clothes for a career woman who lives in the city.

  11. I've been a faithful Jaeger fan for decades and buy both new and vintage but for the past 2 years nothing has tempted me. The sizing was all over the place - just terrible. I agree the quality was awful and for such a brand I am looking for quality and beautiful classic cuts. Please be like you used to be Jaeger! This new collection sounds like the answer to my prayers!

  12. Thank goodness and about time. I really thought they had lost the plot recently. Those looks take me back to the days when I worked there and they did great classics in beautiful fabrics. Quality that lasted and was worth the cost.

  14. Tabitha & silkpathdiary - agree, the quality of some items recently has been wanting. I featured a coat in a freelance feature about a year or so ago and when I saw it in store was shocked at how tatty it looked (and embarrassed that I'd recommended it). But if the autumn samples are anything to go by, the quality is much improved.

  15. My friends couldn't believe the price I paid for the amount of expensive French lace that was on my dress! I love it and am so excited to walk down the aisle in a couple weeks!
