Who'd have thought a pale yellow coat could look so good? Note how I'm calling it pale and not pastel, because we all know how I feel about that sugar-coated phenomenon. Photographer and grown-up style icon Garance Doré gets it just right by teaming her Stella McCartney coat with monochrome and grey. The casually rolled up white pants, the flat pointy shoes and eye-catching clutch, the oh-so chic grey scarf. She makes it look easy, non?

Apparently, Zara's primrose spring coat is a sell-out, but M&S Autograph has a slimline version (below) coming soon - it'll be in store in May. If you can't wait that long, the Stella McCartney style is still available HERE. There are only three coats left on Net-a Porter, you have been warned.

The yellow spring coat. Would you? Could you?
It is pale yellow...I agree on the color and the look...I love how she styled it!
ReplyDeleteI would! (if we wore coats in Florida). Garance (always) looks so effortless, I love her style.
ReplyDeleteI could if it were the right yellow...pale, not too acidic.
ReplyDeleteI like this shade of yellow, perfectly pale. Creamy and kind of ethereal. Love the Stella coat. I think although this is fabulous for Spring, it would also work well in winter with whites (or blacks) and perhaps some glimmering accessories for evening?
ReplyDeleteSo completely lovely. It reminds me of a very pale pink trench coat my husband and teenage daughter bought me years ago. Oh, how I loved that coat! Yellow may not work with my coloring, but it is soo stylish on Garance.
ReplyDeleteLove it! I almost never wear yellow, but I love a pale version of it with grey, such a compelling, yet subtle, combo.
ReplyDeleteNot sure that yellow works that well for me however I think Garance always looks so well put together. I aspire.
ReplyDeleteMy coloring is so allergic to yellow that I can feel my skin burn if I ever have to put it on;).
ReplyDeleteIt looks gorgeous on her but I fear that a pastel (sorry, it is pastel) coat would scream '2014' and end up relegated to the back of the wardrobe after just one season. I can't imagine spending that sort of money on something without longevity.
ReplyDeleteThe color doesn't look so nice on me, but I love it on her. I would if I could...
ReplyDeletealready have - a vintage burberry trench.... for 14€ at humana.
ReplyDeleteI love the grey scarf...it kind of toughens up the past--...ooops almost said the "p" word.... pale, softness of the yellow.
ReplyDeleteI've been hunting for a spring coat in a colour, but there aren't many in the stores here yet. Little wonder since we're all still wearing our down winter coats...and boots, I might add.
Oh yes-in a heartbeat!
ReplyDeletexx, Heather
I have a brighter yellow toggle coat from Boden that I wear all spring. Love it!
ReplyDeleteLove the color and the look. I have been searching this Spring for very pale colors...blush pink, pale yellow, whisper blue, to freshen up grey pants. Too soon for white pants for me, (can't wear them when it's rainy and muddy) but looking for a good linen jean.
ReplyDeleteDidn't recognize her! I like the look because it suits her, fashionably refined with a little quirk, not too fussy. Would I get the coat? Nope. Pale yellow and grey look good, but they're not good on me. The closest I'd get would be off-white.
ReplyDeleteI love yellow coats. Actually, I recently found one and I can't seem to give it rest !
ReplyDeleteIt always amazes me how yellow coats add chic to otherwise basic outfits. I love to wear mine with simple jeans and a grey cashmere sweater (like here www.manigazer.com/home/plum-yellow).
I absolutely love the look at the top of the post !
xx, I.
