It started last week with Iris Apfel in New York and has popped up at London Fashion Week - I'm calling this look the Head-To-Toe Glow. An antidote to the dreary weather that turns the wearer into instant Street Style fodder, but as Robin in his PVC, sixties-inspired clobber told me,' Life's too short not to wear interesting clothes.'

For me, head-to-toe usually involves navy. How bold are you?
Love Iris red!! I really am not that bold...and often wish I was...I agree this bold color brightens a dreary winter!!

ReplyDeleteI love those bold souls who can wear head-to-toe color. Black still feels boldest (and best) to me, but I'm not adverse to a bright accent.

ReplyDeleteIf we're talking head to toe it would have to be navy or grey for me, but I would need a bright accent too. Even if it's only a red lipstick! Usually though I will wear a bright top, or a neutral top with my deep pink jeans.

ReplyDeleteMe...I'm not that brave either. I did wear a bright coral, zipped jacket to give a talk at a teacher's meeting once... and when I stood up to speak I felt like a light bulb. The look on their faces said it all. So I just said, "Can everyone see me?"
I must confess I haven't worn it since!
I like to be top to toe in white, mostly on holiday in the sand, not in UK mud puddles, you understand :-)

I like color, but I also like patterns and contrast. Too much the same just looks like pajamas.
ReplyDeleteI'm brave enough to wear head to toe black in interesting textures and dramatic shapes. Ditto with white or gray. Understatement is more my speed, but Iris looks stunning.
ReplyDeleteI don't tend toward head-to-toe in one color, but love brights in tops or bottoms... I DO love Ms. Apfel in her all-red ensemble, though; especially her LL Bean booties!
