ReplyDeleteLove the cut on these! I'm still hunting for a pair of flares/bootcuts that are slim on the upper leg. Not an easy find.
ReplyDeleteI've loved white jeans forever. I plan to wear my cropped boyfriend cut from last year again this summer. And I have Hudson boot cut from two years ago (or maybe three) which are slim through the upper thigh and which look similar to the pair that Ines is wearing. Here's to not "recycling" them. And here's to dreaming about white jeans (and summer) as I bundle up to head out into the -25 temperatures!

Where I live EVERY man, woman, and child, wears blue jeans. So I wore WHITE. Now that it is trendy to wear white I have put mine away and am now wearing all skirts and dresses with textured tights. So much more comfy than jeans and so much more fun to create outfits. I think white jeans look best skinny so as not to look like Popeye the sailor man.

I'm kinda partial to a skinny bootcut hybrid, but flares are fun, too. Around here I see all types of jeans - maybe we should just wear what we want!

ReplyDeleteFor the boot cut (or its cousin, the trouser jean) to look good, the top has to be fitted- either a tailored shirt like Ines' or a tightish tee. Many women at or past middle-age can't wear that. Skinny and straight leg jeans will accept a tunic top, which is not so demanding.
ReplyDeleteI used to really like my Citizens of Humanity Ingrid jeans for being very fitted through upper leg, gently flared blow. . . not sure they're still available. I might try to hunt out a pair of slightly flared, perhaps boot cuts now that I've lost the tummy bulge. As Duchesse suggests, I had moved to the skinny jean in deference to a need to cover up the muffin top!

I was going to say what Duchesse said - it's to do with the balance of top and bottom and there's not that many people it's going to work for. It looks great on the tall, slim type; I'm skinny but too short to wear it well (or confidently).
