Of course, wellbeing is not all aromatherapy oils and energy-boosting drinks, clothes have mood-enhancing properties too. I always feel pretty perky in my Burberry trench, quite cheerful in my black sequin jacket - that was until I saw Gary Barlow on the January cover of Esquire magazine...
And now it just feels wrong. Too showbiz. A bit naff. I need a subtle update, a classier shape, a less glitzy finish, like this Lurex print jacket from Comptoir des Cotoniers:
Good isn't it? Though at £170, I'll be considering the health of my bank account and waiting for the sales.

ReplyDeleteAs above, I too do think you look great in the sequin jacket (though the Comptior one is a beauty) - Why do crappy male celebrities have to go around spoiling everyone's fun? It's just like the Russell Brand wearing Sass and Bide Black Rats - noooo!!
ReplyDeleteI have a cowl neck, fisherman's rib sweater knitted for me almost 20 years ago by my mother-in-law. I'd picked the pattern from an elle magazine and blithely sent it off to her and it appeared a couple of months later. I wear it every time it's chilly or I'm under the weather and it wraps me up in its warmth. Now I know how much effort she must have made to make it for me, I appreciate it all the more.

ReplyDeleteOooh, that Comptoir jacket is great, although I can't wear that shape. I've got a Smythe jacket (Canadian label) that looks tweedy grey at first, 'til you see the Lurex running throughout it. Sparkles up an outfit this time of year, which I appreciate. Black velvet leggings make me feel cozy AND festive. And now my new Marc Jacobs mouse shoes, studded black. Make me smile.
