You know you're middle-aged when you get excited about a new vitamin drink. But this ain't no ordinary supplement, this is Berocca Boost with guarana. The elixir of mid-life. Nobody told me I'd feel so tired. That I'd be working twice as hard in my forties as in my thirties, for the same amount of money. That I'd enjoy drinking coffee and going to bed early. It's not very radical but I'm looking forward to tomorrow's strike day just so that I can have a lie-in.
Guarana is a natural energiser I first encountered in the rave-tastic early nineties, when I was young enough to party every night and still manage to sit upright at my desk the following morning. These days, I limit myself to two nights out a week, and one of those is a pilates class.

Berocca with guarana, more exciting than Marni for H&M. Well, almost.
How do you keep going? Do you have any energy-giving secrets you'd like to share?
What a great, timely recommendation, off to the wholesalers!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the information...I have never heard of this and I will check it out!
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely going to get some of this. Just hope I can buy it on-line as definitely won't be available in Spain. I currently use Femenergy from VictoriaHealth.com which is also brilliant.
ReplyDeleteClearly we are similar ages because I so remember taking guarana in the 90's. I remember I bought it as a chewing gum and must have looked like a cow chewing the cud, on acid!
That was very funny! I haven't tasted this one but I do like Berocca, it makes me feel terribly virtuous.
ReplyDeleteFunny! I love the part about drinking coffee and going to bed early. Growing older has so many surprises, doesn't it? : >
ReplyDeleteHow does it taste?!
ReplyDeleteThat's funny that one of your nights out is a pilates class! One of our nights out is choir practice. Boring, I know.
ReplyDeleteFor energy I just knock back another expresso.
I don't know how I keep going, cups of tea and matchsticks usually!
ReplyDeleteI've always thought of Berocca as a hangover remedy ... But I could certainly do with a boost.
ReplyDeleteWendy - it tastes very sweet and artificial fruity.
ReplyDeleteCoffee - lots of it!
ReplyDeleteWell this is going on the Boots shopping list for later. I think I prefer middle age, there is something very relaxing doing things just for myself rather than the hectic social whirl of keeping up with friends and nightclubs. Being young is exhausting. Viva coffee and early nights I say.
ReplyDeleteI usually have one of their orange vit tabs every day so this is an exciting development for me too. Xxxx
ReplyDeleteHello there - I would check John Lewis for Barbantia ironing board covers - I think they may have sold them seperately to the boards as replacements.
ReplyDeleteI must try this.. Simply because daughter said it (the ordinary B.Boost) was "horrible but tasted like it was doing me good". Am sure I will like it and if it has the added guarana it shoudl be amazing. Love your previous post too - have a snakeskin tee I purchased in the sale from Sass and Bide and Mr SE bought a great (no, was that two?) jumpers from Sandro when were in Paris. I wanted him to get a scarf too. He should have done. The B.W's one is great. You both always look so stylish. x
ReplyDeleteThanks for information.
ReplyDeleteBerocca
If you are interested in guarana, the company I work for has it in a healthy "energy drink" called FAB. It is 250ml per can.
ReplyDeleteAlso, from Forever Living is a great drink called Argi Plus. It contains L-Arginine and vitamins which boost your anti-oxidents. Tastes lovely.
I also have been drinking aloe gel for years, and I get a wonderful charge out of the comments people leave on my blog:
