Professor Brian Cox comes a close second, but seeing one of the Wonders of the Solar System up close is undoubtedly this year's highlight. For Christmas, as well as ahem, a carefully wrapped vintage globe, Mr That's Not My Age took me to see the Northern Lights. Since Joanna Lumley's trip a couple of years ago, northern Norway has seen an increase in the number of glamorous people keen to experience the aurora borealis. This is Joanna Lumley, not me. But both of us have achieved a lifelong ambition.

And fans of the pop star scientist will be pleased to hear that there's a new series to look forward to in early 2011.

Did you have a special moment in 2010?

ReplyDeleteI had many, and you are included in them
ReplyDeleteHappy 2011 my dear friend.

I would love to see them! I bought The Actor Wonders of the Solar System as he forgot to record them all. Brian Cox is great and makes it so accessible. I worked with him when he was in D:REAM many moons ago! He was lovely then.
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a fabulous break xx
How amazing, I would love to see them, even the thought of seeing them pricks my eyes with tears.
ReplyDeleteOh I love Brian Cox, I'd like extensive plastic surgery to look like him, he's as gorgeous as Nigella!
I think your special moment trumps all! Amazing - it is on my top ten list of things to do xx
ReplyDeleteHi my dear-wow, fabulous pictures and a gorgeous dream achieved too, well done, it sounds like such an inspirational trip away!! For me, 2010 was the year I finally have no credit card or consumer loans outstanding in my whole adult life, since I was 18 I've carried debt and now it is a millstone around my neck gone, yay!!
ReplyDeleteI think that Mr Fabhat and I will have to take Aurora to see her namesake one day - looks gorgeous...
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing sight!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was young, I had a set of encyclopaedias that had a photo of the AB in them. I turned to that picture always. I can think of nothing more exciting than to see the Northern Lights. It's on my bucket list for sure. R. x
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, my dear blogging buddy!
ReplyDeleteYou must share your vintage globes with us someday (oh er, that sounds a bit Carry On).
I'd love to see the Northern Lights but my fear of jumpers and sensible footwear make it somwhat unlikely. xxxx
Producers of science documentaries must scanned the lecture halls with a keen eye. There's been some impressive thinking woman's crumpet showing us all some very sexy science this year.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year TNMA.. Certainly the Northern Lights are so very special - am very envious. Will put them on my list for the future. x
