New year, new sports bra.

Isn't this the sexiest sports bra, ever? It's from the M&S Gym Slim collection which goes on sale next week and is the perfect blend of form and function. Don't tell anyone, but I'm still wearing the first sports bra I ever bought (also from M&S, probably around 20 years ago). It's a bit old and knackered - but very comfy. A recent update has to be pulled on over the head and just getting into it is far too strenuous for my liking. The big pants look good too, don't they? Though I can't really see the point of control knickers for the gym, but the retro styling appeals. And apparently there's no VPL.

Not that I'm very sporty these days, riding a bike is as fast-paced as it gets -  and if that's uphill I have to get off and push. But there was a time when I was probably one of the few women in the world who could describe themselves as a fashion editor and a footballer. Been on telly doing both. And if you ask nicely, I might upload some old action shots.

PS The bra is £19.50, high impact and available in sizes 32A-38DD

Interesting that on the day I have a grumble at M&S on my blog, you post this. If they can do great things like this for women, why is their menswear so missing the point at the moment?

And yes, it's a very sexy bra.

That sports bra looks great! -- I'm very skeptical about how comfortable it might be for running in, and I'm not even a runner with all that much to support. I'd love to hear from users on its functionality, but meanwhile, it gets full marks for form.

Have to add, thought, that sexiness is the last thing I want to be worrying about when I'm working out. . . I like to think I get a Free card re Style/Beauty etc., when I'm sweating!

Love it. Hope they do it in my size. I need a new one.

Looks nice but .... I don't believe in M&S bras. I just don't think they do them well enough. I'm not sure I'd really worry about the look of a sports bra either. Comfort and performance is everything but I am aware that, for some, style of gym wear is very important.

Grey Fox - the womenswear needs help too. Though they have a fantastic new style director, Belinda Earl, who has tons of experience and will definitely help matters.

materfamilias - apparently it's high impact so I'll keep you posted. Haven't run for the last couple of years due to a back injury but hope to start again soon.

Patricia/mater - completely agree. I don't give a damn what I look like but I do like the idea of something that doesn't look like a stretchy crop top.

I run 3-4 times a week and buy all my sports bras from Marks. This is fab.

Wow! what a surprise. I would never have guessed that could have been an M&S bra. They do seem to surpass themselves when it comes to lingerie.

I have never had any sports underwear, except something added to keep me warm in the cold. I don´t think that I´d feel comfortable in the pants, though they´d give a slimmer look.
However, those who need support, might find the set delighting.

Wow! If that's a sports bra I'd like to know what sport might be suitable ...

The bra looks great! I tried to Google it but could not find. Since I am in ballet class more than anywhere else a good fitting bra for under a leotard would be perfect. The industry keeps saying they are trying to improve the sports bras but so far have not found one that works.
