Quote of the week: Valérie Trieweiler
Think it's about time That's Not My Age said a big bonjour to Valérie Trierweiler. France's new Premiere Dame is smart, elegant and principled. As well as representing her country, the 47-year-old journalist intends to continue working, once slapped a colleague for saying something sexist and when Paris Match (the magazine she writes for) used the coverline 'Hollande's charming asset,' tweeted: "Bravo Paris Match for its sexism...my thoughts go out to all the angry women.'
Premiere Dame Valérie Trierweiler (PDVT) told the Times this week:
'This new role makes me a little uncomfortable but I will manage very well if it is not limited to just that. I want to represent the image of France, do the necessary smiling, be well dressed, but it shouldn't stop there. I will not be une potiche (trophy wife).'
And if you're wondering what's in PDVT's wardrobe,' For the moment I dress in pret-a-porter. Lately it has been Georges Rech and Apostrophe, which are quality brands that I have been wearing on television. I have never worn dresses by grands couturiers.'
So, unlike her predecessor there's no bling and no Botox. Don't know about you but Carla Bruni's swollen face was starting to scare me.
