Date Night

A big fan of 30 Rock, That's Not My Age can't wait to see Date Night with Tina Fey, Steve Carell and a topless Mark Wahlberg. On making the movie, the self-effacing writer/producer/funny woman says:

'I've got big gym teacher legs from being pigeon-toed all my life. And I can't wear heels because I have buniony feet. Pitiful..... But I did try to get in shape. Me in that movie is my version of being in shape. Any other actress would hang herself.'

When Mr & Mrs That's Not My Age go on a date, it's quite a low-key affair - you won't catch me pole-dancing in a corset, or a sharp-suited Mr TNMA mobilising Air Force One to take me to a Broadway show. The Blog Widower usually pulls on a clean shirt and I have been known to accessorize my trademark t-shirt and jeans with diamanté earrings. This week taking my cue from the talented Tina Fey, I will be wearing my Breton top, and this neat tailored jacket:

Who knows I might even break out the sparkly earrings! What would you wear for a grown-up date night?

Now I have to I saw Tina on Jonathan Ross and she was moving pretty well in her heels.....I was out on Sunday with Mr Fashionistable and wore my new white T I bought from Environmental Justice foundation - (check out my blog from Tuesday.) A long oatmeal cardy, karki turn ups (new length) and white ankle boots. We went to a Turkish restaurant. I love date nights. Mind you I dont always dress up....it is just nice to go out.

I think you will look fabulous in this date night jacket ensemble TNMA! Depends on where we are going as to what I wear - just out to cinema date usually t shirt and smart jeans but out for special dinner in the city = a few pearl strands and a sprinkling of Chanel maybe too! x

Never have date nights, I picked an outfit for my anniversary dinner and then I realised the day after said anniversary that we had both forgot it!

If it's casual we will wear shorts and I'll wear ballet flats but if there is a mere sniff of Glamour we dress up to the nines. These times are getting fewer though...I spose we do tend to Casual it up more than we once did.

We desperately need a date night around here what with renos and pups and general workaholicness. Pole dancing with a corset sounds intriguing, but I wouldn't have the energy to put on the corset, let alone shimmy around a pole.

Date night, whenever it happens, is usually the occasion for a skinny black top and even skinnier leggins and big earrings. Love your ensemble! R. x

SE - oh I'd love to go out in Chanel & pearls, trés chic.

LF - we don't even know when our anniversary is! Well we know that it's end of March sometime but don't know the exact date.

FF - you always look fab/perpetually ready for a date night.

BE - yes, I find they're an easy way to dress up any outfit!

Rosina - I think Mr MA should take you on a date night!

I'd wear jeans and a nice top plus good flats. I'm not one for the heels either. I'm also looking forward to seeing this movie.

Don't usually do date nights, but did have one in Brighton last year for which I bought & wore Clark's Originals purple suede wedges, with crepe soles & velvet ribbons. I generally can't stand never mind walk in 'normal' shoes, but as the evening only involved a very short walk from hotel to Jamie's Italian to Eddie Izzard, I had to indulge in said shoes! I don't actually remember what else I wore due to 40 something memory failure...
