Inspired by the artist, Michael Landy, 46, That's Not My Age has decided to create a fashion bin. Landy's Art Bin at the South London Gallery is a 'monument to creative failure' and more like an enormous, clear perspex skip than a regular dustbin:

The London-born conceptual artist has thrown away some of his own work (I'll say no more!), and is asking fellow artists and civilians for donations. Anyone can apply but Landy makes the final decision as to what goes into the container. So far, there's a Damien Hirst skull painting, a Tracey Emin saltire, a golden exercise ball and a rather large blue bottle (not part of the installation and as far as I could tell, unapproved by Mr Landy).
The fashion bin is a home for unwanted gifts, ridiculous items - spring/summer 2010 included, and any fashion faux pas my public would like to get rid of. When asked if he'd like to donate, Michael Landy replied, ' What would I chuck in? Nothing of my own because I'm incredibly fashionable!' So, That's Not My Age is going to start things off with this Alexander McQueen shoe:

What will you throw into the fashion bin?

That truly is the worst shoe I have ever seen! I would throw bodysuits in the bin. They may give clean lines, but I used to hate all the fiddling around in the crotch area to undo the thing and now at my age, I would probably wet myself!
Get rid of the ridiculous pointy shoulder pads on the Givenchy style jackets. I know it's fashion, but they look so wrong. Once the Wags start wearing something surely it has to go in the bin?
I would put Ugg boots in the bin. Yes I know they look lovely and warm on very cold winter days but they just look like slippers to me and the way people walk in them, well it just emphasis's this fact to me.
Definitely those shoes ... and Damien Hirst too.
Looking Fab - Yes, in goes the body, think you're right about the forty-something bladder!
FG - Yes, to pointy shoulders - and what I want to know is what do they look like under a coat?
Fashionistable - yes to sloppy Ugg boots.
Susan - ha ha yes! In goes Mr Hirst.
I'm going to get all room 101 here and say uggs aren't fashion so you can't throw them into a bin, ditto crocs. I think it might have to be Per Una skirts for me - they are an abomination!
WHAT! Make Do Style would throw in Per Una skirts? Surely not? LOL! J'agree, stick Damien Hirst in there and his uninspiring work.
I would add all those horrible over-embellished and istressed/distraught jeans from River Island et al...
MDS - so sorry but the Uggs are staying, along with the entire Per Una range.
DRG - yes, in goes over-embellished/distressed denim, it's just wrong.
Size zero goes first from my side. And Mr Hirst follow suit :)
MM - size zero is in the bin.
