For the last couple of days That's Not My Age has been sporting a hand-knitted Norwegian hat, with ear flaps, to keep out the cold - which looks chic in a slightly eccentric, Sigur Ros kind of way - but a trip to Camden has changed all that. The Being Blondie exhibition at Proud Galleries, London, features rare photographs by Brian Aris, including images of the totally gorgeous Debbie Harry in New York with Stephen Sprouse, in her back garden in Greenwich Village and in a snood, on a ferry off the coast of Scotland.
More glamorous than a bobble hat, no?

Would you wear the scarf/hood hybrid?

I like the look of it, but I always think it must be a bit drafty around the neck. Oh God, I sound like my grandma.
More glam indeed!
MM - I think you might be right about the draft, the snood seems to be a bit loose-fitting, maybe I'll knit a skinny snood over the holiday (or would that just be a balaclava?)
MDS - Thank you and Debbie Harry would look glam in anything, don't you think? Including a balaclava!
I love snoods!! So do my girls. They have been wearing their fleecy ones this week to cover up their cold chins and I really like the one we recently bought from H and M for all of 5 squid. It means I don't have to atttempt to wrap it sylishly as it comes ready tied.
FG - oh yes, I forgot about the snoodle doodle!
Rather like this snood thing...But I did have one first time round - what is it they say - if you wore it the first time you shouldn't 'buy into' it the second time round?! Oh well - to hell with the fashion police! x
am knitting a snood
Adrienne - can you knit one for me too?
